We have several class options for you to choose from. The adult class time coincides with the Children’s class time, which is from 10:05 – 10:50 AM. These classes offer a variety of subjects to help you grow in your faith, from Bible studies to evangelism training, spiritual gifts discovery, marriage and family issues, and other topical studies that are relevant to your life.
The Café is open during the Sunday school hour, and is for adults to enjoy a leisurely cup of quality coffee and a donut while visiting and getting to know others in the church. The Café is located in the Great Room, and is a wonderful option to enable people that have busy schedules and feel somewhat disconnected, to simply relax and get connected with others.
These are groups of between 4-12 people that meet together in homes for the purpose of investigating, discovering and pursuing spiritual growth, for developing friendships and for helping to serve Christ and one another. Each group determines its own course: which day and time to meet, how often, which curriculum to study, how to provide childcare, etc. A small group survey should be filled out in order to provide the information needed to help place you into a group that matches your needs. Surveys can be obtained at the Information Center in the lobby.
Prayer under girds everything we do at our church. There are a number of different opportunities to participate in corporate prayer. There is a women’s prayer group that meets on Tuesday mornings from 9:00- 11:00 AM in the worship center. We have a prayer meeting open to all that meets on Tuesday evening in the Conference Room from 7:00-8:00 PM. We have quarterly Prayer Encounters, open to the entire church, that meet in the worship center for the purpose of uniting our church in prayer to ask God for His blessing on our church, and to reach our community for Christ. We have an active prayer chain that you can be a part of by calling the church office or sending an email.
There are three different men’s group meetings for you to choose from. There is a study at Our Place restaurant on Tuesday mornings from 5:30-6:30 AM. There are two different studies at the church; one on Wednesday nights meeting September – May, in Classroom D from 7:00-8:15 PM, and the other study is on Saturday mornings at ACV in the Conference Room, from 7:00-8:00 AM. Occasionally, there are special trips and conferences that you can participate in, as well as, our men’s retreat at Oak Forest Center in the spring.
The purpose of our Women’s Ministry is to draw women to the heart of Jesus and connect women to each other. There are occasional opportunities for fellowship, such as ladies’ night out. Bible studies are available continually throughout the year. There are also opportunities to attend women’s retreats and conferences. You can also check out the Women’s Ministry’s Facebook page (ACV Women’s Ministry).
There are many ways we seek to make an impact in our community with the love of Jesus. Special events are designed to draw people from the community into a relationship with others from our church, and ultimately, a relationship with Jesus Christ, by hearing the gospel and participating in a fun event. The Easter Egg Hunt and Halloween Trunk-n-Treat events are a couple of examples. “Open Arms” is a wonderful outreach to the community, were we serve a free meal once a month, on the fourth Tuesday.
Missions involvement is vital to the Alliance Church of the Valley. We host an annual Missions Conference, which connects us with the missionaries all around the world through informative and participatory ways. We are developing opportunities to partner with a particular country for short-term mission trips on a regular basis. Our Missions Committee Team works to promote missions in a variety of ways.
